As of now, I am still deciding on a robot design. At the moment, I want to employ some variation on Hunter / Prey behavior. Until I completely analyze the problem and decide on a final design, I won't be able to come to a conclusive decision on which microprocessor development kit that I will purchase.
That being said, I am most interested in the Amtel chipset. It is popular and there is a substantial amount of information on how to use it. As for the specific board, the ATMega128 Development Terminal seems like a good choice. It has a built in LCD and is less expensive than many of its counterparts.
By the end of the week I should have finished developing a robot idea so that I can make the board order by Friday. Tentatively, the robot will be designed to search a room for a specific target, photograph that target, follow it and take photos along the way. These photos will be transmitted wirelessly to a nearby laptop.
Otherwise, there is little to report. There is a lot of information that I still need to digest before the class begins in force.
